ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY
We invite you to apply to join our team as a full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt Water Distribution Foreman in our Public Works Department, Water and Sewer Division. The purpose of this position is to supervises and participates in the installation, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of water and sewer lines.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm (40 hours per week). Also r esponds to after-hours/emergency calls 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
- Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
- Supervises the installation of new water services, meters, and valves.
- Prepares and submits daily inspection reports on water booster stations. Maintains daily pump logs on stations.
- Assigns and reviews work orders.
- Maintains water pumping schedule, pump run times, tank levels, and system pressures through daily observation and maintenance of system.
- Installs, maintains, tests, and repairs all water system appurtenances needed throughout the water systems, including pressure reducing valves, altitude valves, control valves, pressure recorders, meters of all types, and all other devices common to complex water systems. Ability to drive county vehicles required to perform this essential task.
- Assigns and supervises all equipment operation and transportation.
- Maintains maintenance and repair records. Assists in inventory and purchasing of parts, tools, material, and equipment as needed.

About Us -
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
- Four (4) years of water/wastewater distribution, public works or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
- Valid state driver's license.
- Must possess Class A CDL, CPR and First Aid certification.
- State of SC Water Distribution System Operator, Class C preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
- Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, lifting, digging, pushing and raising objects and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS (WORK ENVIRONMENT):
Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
Involves routine and frequent exposure to:
- Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen.
- Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions.
- Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife.
- Vibration; Fumes and/or noxious odors.
- Traffic; Moving machinery.
- Electrical shock; Heights.
- Radiation; Disease/pathogens.
